JBS’s beef packing plant in Greeley, CO, is being investigated by county health officials in response to coronavirus concerns.
The investigation began after positive cases were reported at the location and it became known that an additional number of employees were seeking health care.
“We are taking this situation seriously and are rapidly prioritizing any cases that may be associated with JBS,” a Weld County statement said.
“We’ve even added additional disease investigator staff to help with this investigation.
The health department continues to stress to essential businesses that preventing employees from working while sick and adapting processes to ensure physical distancing is critical to preventing spread in their workforce and community.”
JBS said the company is taking measures to protect employees and keep production running.
