Beef Bits Brief: 3-D printed “steak”?

Redefine Meats, an Israel-based startup, has developed a 3-D printer that currently can produce 13 pounds of a plant-based alternative steak.

The company’s goal is to create its 3-D printed steaks at a price comparable to traditional meat. The plant-based products’ recipe contains soy and pea proteins, coconut fat, and sunflower oil, among other ingredients.

The company hopes to debut the steaks at high-end restaurants in Israel, Switzerland, and Germany by the end of 2020.
