The Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) Foundation has funded more than $30,000 in scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.
According to Al McCormick, NILE scholarship committee chairman, 73 applicants from eight states submitted applications to receive scholarships.
The following seven students received one-time $1,000 awards: Shane Dawson of Lander, WY; Lexy Dietz of Shepherd, MT; Danika Gordon of Whitewood, SD; Luke Heupel of Kalispell, MT; McKenna Quirk of Missoula, MT; Madalyn Rohr of Elbert, CO; and Matthew Rosman of Creston, WA.
The 2020 Shining Star Award is a one-time $2,000 scholarship, which was given to Rachael Stevenson of Hobson, MT.
The following three students received rolling $1,000 scholarships for up to four years: Nathan Hill of Townsend, MT; Kelty Raciborski of Glendive, MT; and Alyssa Thormahlen of Bridger, MT.
The following nine students met the requirements to receive their rolling scholarship for the year: Brandi Fuller of Wright, WY; Bethany Lyford of Kalispell, MT; Claire Stevenson of Hobson, MT; Mamie Hertel of Lewistown, MT; Lainee Hill of Townsend, MT; Andrea Rutledge of Big Sandy, MT; Konnar Knotwell of Encampment, WY; Kelsey Kraft of Billings, MT; and Ty Paisely of Wheatland, WY.
The following seven students received secondary $1,000 scholarships: Andee Baker of Park City, MT; Garrett Bromenshenk of Billings, MT; McKenzie Mork of Sanders, MT; Shelbie Oblander of Ballantine, MT; Jessica Paul of Ismay, MT; Katie Shockley of Wheatland, WY; and Nicole Stevenson of Joliet, MT.
The NILE Legacy award was presented to Wesley Brown of Stevensville, MT. The $500 “Needle in the Haystack” scholarship was received by Claire Stevenson.
