The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) honored meat industry leaders and companies last week during the 2020 International Production & Processing Expo.
Winners and their awards were as follows: Robert Savage, President, HACCP Consulting Group (E. Floyd Forbes Award for meat industry corporate leadership); Dr. Temple Grandin, Professor, Colorado State University (Harry L. Rudnick Educator’s Award for leadership in educating the future leaders of the meat industry); John Vatri, Vice President of Operations at Cardinal Meat Specialties (NAMI Industry Advancement Award for his leadership in creating the Meat Institute Task Force that launched the “Trust in Animal Protein” initiative); Reiser (2019 Supplier of the Year Award for leadership and investment in processing and packaging equipment and technical support services); and 35 different meat and poultry plants across the country (Worker Safety Recognition Awards for achieving high levels of workplace safety performance and reducing occupational injury and illness rates).
“The Meat Institute congratulates these exemplary individuals and companies for their impressive achievements,” said NAMI President and CEO Julie Anna Potts in the group’s announcement.
“Their hard work and innovation will ensure the meat and poultry industry continues to employ the highest standards and latest technology to produce wholesome, safe, nutritious products that exceed customer expectations.”
