The Livestock Marketeers—an informal fraternity of livestock fieldmen, auctioneers, sale managers and related business leaders—met at the National Western Club for their 55th annual banquet, and inducted the 2020 Hall of Fame members.
Inductees were Hoover Case of Marshfield, MO; Alan Sears of Eaton, CO; and the late Jerry Gliko, of Belt, MT.
Case dedicated most of his life to auctioneering purebred cattle and helping youth in agriculture, according to the organization’s official release.
He has been heavily involved in the Santa Gertrudis, Beefmaster-Brangus, Simbrah and other “eared” breeds for the past 36 years.
Sears has dedicated his life to the livestock marketing industry with jobs in production agriculture and media publication.
He has held positions at Drovers Journal, North American Limousin Foundation, and currently the Western Ag Reporter.
Gliko was a lifelong member of the Livestock Marketeers, from his first job with the American Hereford Association to his ultimate position at the Western Livestock Journal.
“Many breeders commented on his warm demeanor and professional attitude while serving those positions,” the Livestock Marketeers release said.
“His presence at the sale and in the industry is missed by many people.”
