Awards Arena: Deichmanns recognized as Salers ambassadors

Dan and Marilyn Deichmann were recognized by the American Salers Association as ambassadors to the Salers breed, thanks to their years of involvement with the breed.

The couple started Deichmann Livestock Brokerage in 1985, concentrating on the Salers breed when it was fairly new to North America. Since 2000, the sales management and consulting business has developed from Salers sales to a multibreed business, and it now involves registered breeders in the Salers, Red Angus, Simmental and Angus breeds.

“We believe wholeheartedly it’s a people business, and the most satisfying reward is seeing our customers be successful from our involvement in their operation,” Dan said.

He also served three terms on the American Salers Association in the ’90s and early 2000s. Today, the family has a herd of Salers-Optimizer cattle in Hobson, MT.

For over four decades, the Deichmanns have been involved in every phase of the livestock industry, encompassing marketing, feeding, promotion, AI sales and service, consulting, management and raising cattle.
