Mark Blake of Gibbon, NE, was named the 2020 Red Angus Director’s Herdsman of the Year at the National Red Angus Show held on Jan. 13 at the National Western Stock Show (NWSS).
The Director’s Herdsman of the Year is presented to an individual who has most effectively presented him or herself in a professional manner and their cattle while at the show.
According to the Red Angus Association of America’s announcement of the win, Blake grew up breeding and showing Limousin cattle, and later became a part of J6 Farms.
He showed several groups of Red Angus cattle and saw heightened success, including exhibiting the Champion Pen of Three Red Angus Bulls and the Reserve Champion Pen of Three Red Angus Females at this year’s NWSS.
