The American Simmental Association (ASA) released a new Heifer Pregnancy (HP) EPD in a research format, aimed at improving reproductive success and long-term herd profitability.

The HP EPD predicts the likelihood that a sire’s daughters will become pregnant and calve at 2 years of age, expressed as a percentage, with higher values being more favorable. Developed by International Genetics Solutions, the tool relies on data from ASA’s Total Herd Enrollment program. The release reflects ongoing efforts to provide producers with economically relevant genetic selection tools.
