Arkansas officials have been temporarily halted from enforcing two laws that target businesses and property owned by Chinese nationals.

A cryptocurrency mining company, Jones Eagle LLC, filed suit against the laws in November, claiming they violate the Fourteenth and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution by denying due process, discriminating based on national origin and depriving a person of just compensation for taking property.

“The (temporary restraining order) and preliminary injunction will prevent further harm to our client while we prepare for a trial on the merits where we will get to fully present our case as to why the laws are unconstitutional and reflect legislative overreach,” the company’s attorney said.
