Precision Livestock Technologies (PLT) has introduced a system that harnesses artificial intelligence (AI) to predict cattle feed intake and offer feeding recommendations.

The AI system analyzes data points, including feeding rates, times, cattle behavior, ration type and weather conditions, through its Bunk Management System and external sources. The system’s reliance on machine learning suggests ongoing improvement with accumulating data, promising greater benefits for PLT clients. This system emulates the decision-making skills of experienced cattle feeding professionals, providing both automated decisions and a platform for staff verification, ensuring a tailored and error-averse approach to feeding.

Andrew McKenzie, CEO of PLT, said developing the technology was a high priority for the company and was possible through customer feedback providing valuable insight.
