80 animals killed in CA shooting spree

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect after an early morning shooting in Prunedale, CA, which resulted in the deaths of around 80 farm animals.

At 3:25 a.m. on Sept. 4, deputies responded to calls of numerous shots being fired. Upon arrival, they heard shots continuing, and after a three-hour standoff, the suspect, Vicente Joseph Arroyo, was found in a crashed vehicle nearby.

Arroyo allegedly fired hundreds of rounds, killing animals, including chickens, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, ducks, other types of birds and a miniature horse. Multiple firearms were recovered and the investigation remains ongoing.
