The Biden administration requested $1.6 billion from Congress for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the president’s budget for fiscal year 2025. The intent is for BLM to “strengthen and expand the agency’s multiple use and sustained yield mandate.”
The agency said it will use the funds to address climate change, accelerate renewable energy jobs on public lands, create union jobs and advance environmental justice and partnerships.
“The budget reflects the Administration’s continued commitment to striking the right balance between enduring land conservation and responsible use of the nation’s resources,” said BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning.
