BITING COWDOGS • I have several pups from 3 to 5 months old that are out
of tall, short or slick haired, slim built, big headed Border Collie/McNab/Pitbull
parents. All of the parents will hunt and hold cattle and then bring the cattle
to you once they see you. The parents range in roughness from literally ripping
a cow’s head up and down to the milder ones which, if they were straight Border
Collies, would be called very rough. All of the parents are very fast, long
distance, good traveling dogs. When I say long distance, I mean that the dogs
will go to cattle that are so far away that you can’t see the dog anymore. The
only way you know that the dogs are at the cattle is because the cattle are
bunching up and fighting something. When I say good traveling, I mean just that.
This line of dogs was developed in the high desert of Nevada where the water
holes are few and far between. Any dog that couldn’t take those conditions dried
to dust in that desert. All of the dogs really try to please their owners and
are people friendly. Their temperaments range from being kind of hard headed
down to being pretty easy to handle. $500.
